Islamabad:
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in a conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, informed the people of Pakistan over the indiscriminate actions and attacks of the people of Pakistan, saying that Pakistan reserves the right to defend its sovereignty.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif telephoned US Secretary of State Marco Rubio this evening and on this occasion the Prime Minister strongly condemned India’s missiles and drone strikes, which resulted in the loss of 31 civilians, 57 and damaged civilian infrastructure.
The Prime Minister said that India’s attacks not only violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and regional integrity but also threatened peace and stability in the South Asian region.
Shahbaz Sharif reaffirmed its strong commitment to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs and said that the Pakistani people were in deep anger with India’s indiscriminate war operations.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan reserves the right to take action in its defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, the Prime Minister praised President Donald Trump’s concern over the current security situation in South Asia.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States is keeping a close eye on the situation in South Asia as it is committed to promoting peace and stability in the region.
Marco Rubio said that for this purpose, he emphasized the need to work together to reduce tensions for both Pakistan and India.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the two sides agreed to stay in touch.
