Qasimwala was controlled on a timely fire in the forest, which resulted in a major tragedy.
The joint operation of the forest, rescue 1122 and locals played a key role in controlling the fire. More than 100 personnel and officers participated in the rescue mission, affected only a few acres of shrubs and 45 small trees.
According to the forest department, the fire started in the barren area near the Abbasia Canal, which was reported by the forest department. The fire of Pakowal Block No. 1 was completely controlled at 10 o’clock, while the fire of Block No. 2 was extinguished at 9am after overnight efforts.
Senior Minister Punjab said that as a result of the hard work of the field staff, timely action was made possible, all the personnel and officers who participated in the fire extinguishers will be encouraged.
According to a preliminary report of the forest department, the forest fire was caused by the negligence of an unknown person against which an FIR has been registered. The senior minister has constituted a committee consisting of senior officers for a thorough investigation of the incident and a report has been sought within 24 hours.
Senior Minister Punjab Maryam Aurangzeb has said that according to the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab, the protection of the forest is the top priority of the government.
