In various parts of the country, severe tremors of the earthquake shook the masses between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Earthquake tremors were felt in several cities including Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Swabi, Dir, Swat, Malakand and Chitral.
The earthquake came at 4pm to 17 minutes, according to local time, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 5.3, which was so intense that people woke up from sleep and left their homes in fear.
Severe panic spread among the citizens, and in many areas, people appeared to be running to open places while uniforming Kalima Tayyabah.
No casualties or financial losses have been reported yet, but authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
According to the earthquake center, details regarding the magnitude, depth and center of the earthquake will be released soon.
Rescue and emergency services have been alerted, while relevant agencies have been instructed to take precautionary measures in view of possible aftershocks.
