Islamabad:
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a significant reduction in the basic tariffs of electric vehicles (EV) charging stations.
The decision was made after a petition submitted by the federal government.
According to a NEPRA statement, the basic tariff for electric vehicles charging stations has been reduced from Rs 45.55 per unit to Rs 23.57 per unit.

In this way, large relief of Rs 21.98 per unit has been provided to consumers.
Apart from this, the implementation of Rs 24.44 per unit has been approved to be removed at the charging stations, after which the margin will now be determined on the market basis.
According to NEPRA, the move was taken by the government to promote electric vehicles and encourage green energy.

The federal government had submitted a formal application in this regard to NEPRA, which aimed to reduce the cost of charging infrastructure and provide cheap facilities to consumers.
