A proposed Muslim housing scheme called “Epic City” in Texas has been prevented by the state government from fear of the Shariah implementation.
“Epic City” is a 402 -acre project that was to be built in the Coles and Hunt of Texas by the World Famous Islamic Scholar Yasser Qazi Mosque East Planno Islamic Center (EPIC) and its subsidiary community capital partners.
The project included more than 1,000 residential units, an Islamic school, mosque, community colleges, parks, shops, and other facilities.
However, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxon have stopped the project by accusing them of extremism. The allegations include allegations of potential violation of the Texas Fair Housing Act and discrimination against non -Muslims.
Governor Abbott said on social media regarding the project that Sharia law is not acceptable in Texas nor will there be any Sharia -based city or a new area.
The organizers of the Epic Mosque have dismissed the allegations, saying that Epic City will be open to all religions and backgrounds and that the project will be in accordance with US laws. He also made it clear that this project does not in any way intend to enforce Sharia or establish a separate legal system. This is the result of ignorance of the meaning and meaning of the governor’s law.
